The [theme?] button toggles between the light and dark themes.
The [colour?] button toggles colour-syntax on/off.
The default is the dark-theme with colour-syntax on.
Click [theme?] to switch to light-theme (colour-syntax remains on).
Click [colour?] to switch colour-syntax off (theme remains light).
Click [theme?] to switch to dark-theme (colour-syntax remains off).

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the return of color as the default. I have learned that when it was off by default, people almost always forget that the feature exists.
